Outreach

In keeping with its motto “Science Serving Society”, researchers at the Center have recognized the importance of communicating their research, not only to fellow scientists and managers, but also to the lay public.  An informed public can directly participate in conservation efforts and it can also better decide how to spend limited resources for those efforts.  Center researchers reach out to the public in a variety of ways including through the media, local schools and community events, and by involving partners such as the Shedd Aquarium to communicate the research.
